I think this link fits the extended battery life topic perfectly http://www.instructables.com/id/EGBQJPLCB2EP287KTZ/
Although I have no idea if it will work![]()

This is the same as the last link I posted but it has a list of tested devices that works and some that doesn't work. http://www.ladyada.net/make/mintyboost/
There is a note about moto v3 phones and how the device would work with the latter.

I'm waiting for the energizer "energi to go" which is the same as lady ada's minty boost but 10 dollars more with no work and no bragging right for making it on your own. When I was looking at car chargers it seems that the Motorola v3 share the same charger as the a780 so it would be safe to conclude that lady ada's minty boost will work with the a780 following the same modification for the cable made for the Motorola V3.
I'm planning to ask my relatives in america to buy one for me I just want to make sure I'm not buying something I could not use.

Anybody ever tried if the energi to go works with the a780 works out of the box?

Yo people, A780 uses the same batteries as Motorola V500 and V600. I've bought 2000mA for V600 and installed in my A780. Works great.

I'm guessing that you're not using the battery cover are you? 2000mah is too thick for the phones without a modified battery cover
the default battery for moto phones is usually 700 mah i think
