Problem operating google maps

Downloaded google maps to my a780. I'm having problems using the app. I can get directions fine, but then google maps says type 3 to see the next step in the direction and that's the problem, I can't type 3 as I don't have a dial pad. The dial pad on the lid of the flip is not operational when the flip is open and there is no way I could see to open the touch dial pad.

Anyone managed to work with this app successfully?

It's impossible unless someone remaps the keys (google) for the A780 or something like that. This happens sometimes with some apps which have not been compiled for our phone.

I can't use 3 either but I am able to use the joystick to move to the next pin point on the map where it gives me the next driving instructions. I know this isn't the answer to your question but it works.
