cant receive phone calls :(

hi,
i just got my motorola a780 cell phone. it is brand new and unlocked. i have waited for this phone for so long. and now that i have received it,
i have this problem: i cant receive any phone calls! i did get text messages
but for some reason, dont get voice calls on the phone. the phone doesnt light up, or make any sound when i call it. i would really appreciate it if
someone could please help me out.

mine did the same thing, then i cancelled Caller ID and now it seems to work fine. maybe you could try that? (also an easier way would be to hide the number (*67) when calling to your phone?)

also whats your carrier? and firmware?

thanks for the suggestion. my carrier is rogers. i called the tech support and they sent me 2 test calls and it started working fine. but then again today, the phone stopped receiving calls for some unknown reason. i wonder if its a common problem or i got a lemon.

doesit make a diffrence if the caller ID is blocked? (like do more calls go through?)

im on fido... which is pretty much rogers as well now and im guessing there MAY be a chance that it could be rogers/fido thats messing up there
