    Default HELP!!!! I overwrote some system files by mistake!!! [FIXED]

    ARGH! I telneted into my phone and Gedit FAILED to save the files (I just did a small change)!!!! I am now with 2 wrong files, with 0 bytes in each!!
    PLEASE PLEASE, if you are running the 074 or 076 A2R firmware, please telnet on your phone, and send for me these files (either do a copy/paste from telnet and create the files by using the "cat" command, or use samba to mount the phone and copy the files over to your desktop)!!!
    These are the files I need:
    /ezxlocal/download/appwrite/setup/ezx_setup.cfg
    /usr/setup/ezx_system.cfg

    Please help! Thanks!!!

    $ cat etc/ap_version.txt
    R52_G_0D.74.A2R

    Here is my usr/setup/ezx_system.cfg
    but i do not have any ezxlocal/download/appwrite/setup/ezx_setup.cfg

    I do have ezxlocal/download/appwrite/setup/ezx_system.cfg but I think is only my personal version of the same file in usr/setup if you want it any way, just tell me.

    Bye,

    This should be a lesson for everyone to backup their files before making any changes.

    I had backed it up in my desktop. Only later I realized that Gedit was saving them as 0 bytes (copying over from the terminal worked better). By that time I realized that, I had already deleted by copies as I thought everything went fine.

    ummm ...how do you write to /usr/setup? i tried copying a customized ezx_system.cfg and ezx_volumetable_a780.cfg but it says "omitting directory". I already used CHOWN to change ownership of the folder to "root" and CHMOD to supposedly give me read, write, and execution access ...but I still get "omitting directory" ...any suggestion guys?

    To modify anything in /ust/setup you need to edit cramfs. There are a few how-tos on the forum.
