  1. Default text to speech on a780

    Hi, i'm a blind linux user and I purchased an A780 and want to port a screen reader for the blind i'm working on to the phone. Anyone have any idea what TTS engine is ued on the A780? Any ideas on where to get the kernel source from?

    i think they have those kinda text to speech thingy....
    then the blind can use computer as well
    i think so la
    dunno is it real

    if hes a blind, how does he surf to this website? it is possible? is he really blind, or is he testing a tool for the blind?

    yes i'm really blind can't see a thing My windows machine talks and reads me the screen useing a program called jaws, there are many such programs out there. I'm trying to write one for the moto a780.

    cool. blind people can use internet too. never knew it. and my father had the cheek to say a computer is hard to use

    is there any phone which allow speech to text?

    Yes, there are two screen readers for mobile phones that I know of. one is talks on the scansoft website and the other is mobile speak on the codefactory website.


    They both work on series 60 symbian phones though, mobile speak is working ona version for pocket pc though.
