I have never heard of this issue before. Have you tried playing with the backlight settings in setup? I would lower them to see if it has an effect on your "white screen" appearing.
I've searched all around this very nice forum, but couldn't find anything about my problem.
I have a A 780 european version, with NEO, LinLoader and qonsole running properly. But for the last 2 weeks or so, I have hade some very serious problems with my phone. Sometimes satrting the phone seems to be no problem...once in a while though the phone only greets me with a plain white screen, even if I try to start the bootloader by pressing wheel button + camera button + power button it only shows a plain white screen.
Same thing happens when the phone is turned on properly and I dont use it for 30 mins, sometimes after 5 mins. I open it up and it shows that white screen.
It seems that the phone is still working while showing the white screen, cause incoming calls are still recognized (vibration and sound turns on) and alarm clock works too.
I couldnt really figure out what really helps, but it seems that if I take out the battery completely and put it in again it's more likely the phone will start properly.
Has anyone information or experienced the same problems?
Additional Information:
FW has not been flashed since I have the phone.
No Themes were installed.
Like I said NEO, LinLoader, qonsole and XSNES installed.
FW Version:
R52_G_0D.74.A2R
BP: R52_G_0D.C0.B1P
BPFlex: GCOA780000E1025
DSP 62373700
Technology: Quad-Band GSM
Since I've read something about defective batteries:
Battery: SNN5683A G6UV20DBCIG.CE
I know thats a lot of Information, but I hope someone can help me with this.

My A780 has the same issue. I upgraded my phone from 74 to 76, and the issue seems to be present still. Disabling everything on the phone, Bluetooth, GPS, GPRS and doing a master clear and reset doesn't help.
Was hoping someone might know how to fix this?
I still don't have any solution for the problem, but I think I found some clues to the problem.
Until now no changes on backlight, wallpaper, Save-battery-mode, auto switch off, themes don't seem to have any affect on the problem.
I also tried a different battery...the same problem again.
Since it's no problem of the battery, i figured that it's a problem of the displays temperature. So I started CoPilot to see if I get the white screen while CoPilot is running.
Answer: No
Something I recognized was: When I'm trying to load the battery, doesn' matter if i try with car or main power supply unit, the white screen appears earlier, than in normal mode.
So now I'm gonna send it to Motorola support. If they tell me what has been the problem...I will let you know.
Thx anyway for the help
I live in the UK, and as such is cold like most places in the northern hemisphere at the moment. This white screen can occur from power up after the phone has been turned off for several hours (ie overnight), or could occur after the handset has been on for many hours. Not sure if the temperature is an issue.
At first i thought there was a device at my home which was somehow triggering this, maybe bluetooth interference. But with most things removed and bluetooth off this still occurs. As this never seems to occur at work.
To me just sounds like some software bug which occurs when a certain scenario is followed. It is this scenario which i am not sure of. What is your bluetooth etc doing at the time this occurs, or is it independent? Are you in the same location when this occurs?
i'm sure it has nothing to do with bluetooth interference or anything like that, since i have tried anything.
switching BT on and off, agps on/off, gprs on/off
It also doesn't deppend on the location since it happens at all the places I have been for the last 2 weeks (indoor and outdoor)
What about your TransFlashCard??? That's the last thing I thought I should try . I removed the mem-card completly and until now I haven't seen a white screen anymore.![]()
I think you should try this too and share your experiences.
If the problem is due to the TransFlashCard...I think I can understand that since I am using W2k and I can't tell if I disconnected the device properly everytime single time I connected the phone via USB.
So please try....
If still anyone has a problem like the one i HAD...
Send your phone to Motorola Support.
Now with a new display unit everything works fine again.
hmmm, hey trivialist temme how aften u switch ur phone off....futermore tell me about the climatic conditions of ur place.
Because i know for a fact that dew formation spoils the touch screen, happed in a p910 too. that was when it was taken into a steam bath and out....wat happend was that, fine drops of water condenced on the circuitswhich for some reson spoit the circuit.
first the problem u reported showed up then the touch screen stopped working. its a common phenomenon in a cold climatic area, i wud adice u not to put the phone through envionmental shocks.
