A780 capture side button - reprogrammable?

I'd like to use audio recorder instead of photo/cam capture on that button. You know, capture button on the right side, by thumb activated. So, is it possible or not to change application on that button? And how?

well, definitely it's worth to try...
sound capture on oldish A780 is way more usable than photo or even camera.
new function to add and button is already there

how about the VR button, there's a flex number to make it "recorder" instead of VR

thanks, it could help.. i'll try with OS X, it looks quite time consuming
