Mpkg install problem please help..

Hello motoexperts
I have copied mpkg.lin & mpkg.mpkg to top directory, have opened mpkg.lin with linloader and nothing happenns. I don't have new jar file. I do not have any "flower icons". I cannot also install any mpkg ang pkg. I've got an English motorola A780. What I'm doing wrong ?

unfortunatley there is still no good tutorial around for your phone,
actually not even other phones discussed on this website.
The only thing you come across are people in the forums,
who already know how to install mpkg, pkg, shx, etc files
and some who dont, they ask a question in there, which is some small
particular question, and he/she is satisfied and can continue.

Too bad there is no complete guide for it, for the newbies
around here on this site.
I don't know it either how to do such stuff, but mainly
because I don't need to know it.. I personally like to keep my phone
as it is, at least for now... and only upload a java game once in a
while to my mobile phone

Admins/Mods, please make a tutorial for the new guys, so they don't need
to search the forum for the answers, all the steps to be done are wide spread,
in different threads, but none of them are complete :S
Perhaps put the tutorials under a section in the menu on the left
named "Phone related" ? Just a suggestion

A780 does not need to install MPKG Installer. because It contain buildin version of MPKG installer. just tap on *.mpkg file it will popup windows to ask you where to install and which group to install like a java program.

AFAIK, some a780 firmwares (I think that european ones) have the MPKG installer blocked and does not let the user to install such applications.

One can unblock this limitation by reflashing with an optimized firmware.

Correct-me if I'm wrong

@asmatic I'm affraid that you're right. If I clik ao pkg, mpkg package I receive: Can not find an application to open the file. Is reflashing is an only way ? I'd rather prefer no to becouse I'm happy with the existing one, besides mpkg installer of course.

if your A780 doesnot have mpkg buildin. you cannot install mpkg program because yan0's MPKG Installer only run on E680/i. from mpkg code it check phone's firmware number to run difference code for each phone.

pls wait for my modiflied yan0's MPKG Installer for E680/i/A780. It'll release soon.

I have an european firmware, and I have no problem at all installin mpkg applications. just tap on it and it asks me where do I want to install it.
