    Default Voice Command on Euro/GPS models - last flexbit found...

    Hi folks. I just got my phone last week (German model) but have been lurking here for the past several weeks in anticipation

    I have to say, I'm loving the phone, but I was a little disappointed that the voice command wasn't present in the version that I received. So after reading this thread:

    http://www.motorolafans.com/index.ph...ewtopic&t=1527

    I started digging around a bit, and managed to discover the flexbit that selects whether voicenote or vr is triggered by the voice button. This is in addition to the enable/disable flexbit (0x4B) that was already dicovered.

    The flexbit in question is 0x100 (assuming my hex math is correct).

    For those of you with the Euro/GPS versions you should simply be able to change
    8 = 2147483648
    to
    8 = 0
    (it's the only bit set) in your ezx_flexbit.cfg.

    I don't know for sure, but it might work the other way, too -
    If you have voice command, and would rather voicenote launch when you hit the voice key, try setting
    8 = 2147483648
    in your ezx_flexbit.cfg.

    Note, that my config has 6=0 and 7=0 between lines 5 and 8. I don't know if they're required, but you may want to put them just in case.

    Also, I wanted to say thanks to everyone that contributes here. Hackable toys wouldn't be nearly as much fun without people working together and sharing their knowledge.

    Also, I forgot to mention it -

    I haven't taken the time to find out which bit controls what, but the Monternet branding in the optimized_flex appears to be located in line 5 of the ezx_flexbit.cfg.

    If anyone applied the optimized flex but wants to get rid of the branding, setting line 5 back to whatever it was before should do it.

    well that optimized_setup.shx thing does a bad thing to the european version of the a780. It made it so the motosync option was suddenly gone from the phone.. which is bad because I sync to my exchange server over the air using that feature... I had to flash back again to regain the option.. I would sure like to know how to apply the options in the optimized shx file without disabling the motosync.. But I thought I would mention the warning

    Hey, I editetd the file in the ezx_flexbit.

    I changed to 0 in order to get VR.

    Unfourtunatly it does not work.

    In your first post you rely on another post, that seems to have dissapeard.

    What was stated in there?

    Anyway, I used XPtools to alter the file.
    Any Idea what I could further do?

    Thanks.

    i dont think a simple edit of ezx_flexbit.cfg changes something.

    "To edit this file, you must replace the /usr/config cramfs image. There may be a secondary ezx_flexbit.cfg file under /ezxlocal, but that file is a decoy, ignore it."

    Hello you need to flash code group 36 using flashkit.

    mtd6: 00020000 00020000 "R/W Setup" (CG36)
