is your modem status set to the correct option?
what is your firmware?
maybe a reflash can help.
It seems that when I use the A780 as a GPRS modem, it somewhat-randomly reboots. It seems to reboot more when there is a lot of traffic passing through the device. I have the same problem if I set up NAT using mack's scripts. I have even seen the device reboot once or twice when only using opera mobile, but this is much rarer.
I have not noticed this problem using the device solely as a phone.
Has anyone else seen this? Is there a fix, short of getting another phone?
I'm not sure what you mean by "modem status". The usb mode is set to "modem".
Firmware version:
AP: R52_G_0D.74.A2R
BP: R52_G_0D.C0.B1P
BPFlex: GSOA780T673AU064
DSP: 62373700
(which according to Original firmware versions - OpenEZX is the "asian unlocked market version")
Do you know of a newer firmware for this model? .76 seems to be for GPS models.
> I'm not sure what you mean by "modem status".
there is an icon labeled "modem" in the Extra menu.
there you can switch between bluetooth and usb.
but this can't solve your problem with opera.

i don't have a newer, or the same firmware.
but someone has succesfully flashed .76 on an asian A780
