GPS does not work any longer

Today I switched on my A780 and tried to turn on GPS but there was no pull-down menu!
Only "AGPS:"
Reset did not help. Does anybody know what is wrong? Any firmware out there that solves this software problem?

I get that sometimes if I try to switch my GPS on directly after switching the phone on. You have to wait a while until you see in the phone'statusbar the GPS antena switched off before trying to switch it on. I don't think it is a bug, it just takes some time for the phone when it starts to initialize all drivers.

About updates: heard in a german forum that motorola might bring one out by the middle of february.

Thanks. In the beginning it was the way you said. But now I doesn't matter how long I wait, the GPS symbol is always canceled by a red line. And activating GPS in the menu is not possible. The pull-down menu is gone.

I have the same your problem.
The GPS status icon has always a red bar on it and there is not anymore a pull-dowm menu to enable/disable GPS!
Did you solved the problem?

ended up sending the phone back to motorola to get fixed. will let you know what version they send it back with

posted it back to motorola 3 times each time it came back not working, got so fed up in the end, i managed to do a dodgy deal on a p990 and now am very happy with tomtom and a bluetooth gps on the phone.

does anyone want to buy a a780 off me? gps doesnt work! see above! open to offers. message me is you do
