A780 went dead

I got a new phone and was using my A780 as aback up. Well I hadn't used it for about 2 weeks and when I tried to use it it was dead. It won't power up at all, even if plugged up for overnight. I have 3 batteries for it and have tried all 3 with no success. Any Ideas? Or is it dead?

it wont charge on computer if the battery is complete empty.

can anyone help me... my A780 went totally dead same as lumpy53.. 1st a want to flash back my f/w, when in progress, my PST MultiFlashFlex program has error and closed. now i can't evn open my A780.

i tried to connect but my PC detect as "USB device not recognized"...

after that, i tried press camera, scroll n on button, screen load into boot(blue screen) and i flash again, but this time failed.. then my PC not detect at all....and my A780 still dead

failed because of what?
make sure your battery is loaded (connected to wallcharger few hours)
if it starts in bootloader mode(blue screen) try to flash to an asian firmware.

Which firmware you had first on your phone?
Which firmware you are trieing to flash?


Common PST mistakes:

- wrong/corrupt firmware
- battery to weak or not fully charged
- hardisk full pst could not extract firmware
- old driver / driver confilcts
(maybe weak usb port?)

There is also a log file from PST what does it say as main error?

Sometimes you cant make to big jumps in firmware upgrades (BP problem). Also some database structure from some files were changed during the history of A780 firmware. So it is recommend that you master clear/reset you phone after upgrade from 50 to 74.

i've charge my A780 more thn 4 hour..when i do (press scroll&camera+put battery) sometimes it load into bootloader mode, but after i connect to USB, the blue screen disappeared...and sometimes when i do the bootloader trick (press scroll&camera+put battery), my A780 not evn show/load into bootloader mode..

i've no problem flashing into .50/.74/.76 but its start happen(cannot flash/load into bootloader) when my PST/MultiFlashFlex program has error and closed by its self when flashing in progress..

Does your not working phone realy load the battery?

When you are in bootloader mode and you connect your phone to the usb port, are you getting a new Motorola USB Device --> Motorola Flash Interface?

Read this >thread< carefully Ajeevlal had the same error and finally he flashed successful to v74. However I think it depends what BP is now on your phone. So if this were not updated during flashing you will have still your first BP.
