PLZ help, lost my phone code!!

Ok guys, I spent the whole night trying first to guess my phone code that I set a few months ago then of course forgot.. then I was trying to retrieve codes somehow using seem editor from moto4lin. Everything looks like a default there on both 0074 and 0076!? But still I do not have access to my phone~~
I don't use windowz and its' tools, just OS X.
Please help, I need my phone asap!!

What other tool I can use with combination A780 and OS X?
Is there any chance to take my phone on PC and easily to see or change my password using PST or MPT or any Pk2 editor or wahtever? Idea of flashing FW or master reset is not good, any other are very welcome.

..and apparently, passwords are here:
/ezxlocal/download/appwrite/setup/ezx_system.cfg
but I cannot telnet to A780.. already installed AJZaurusUSB-0.5.3 on my 10.4.11 OS X.. but simply, it's not there (modem)

And from moto4lin file manager, I cant access that dir.. only 7 system files are visible on a/mobile, no subdirs at all...

I'm really giving up
Have no clue what else to do!

it looks like your A780 is set to USB massstorage and not modem.
flashing is the only sollution in my view.

it's set to modem.
i'll try with PC tools later this day..
but is it possible that there's no other service support / tools for Macs??

What is really weird:
Today on a PC I tried MPST 7.2.5 and PK2 Advanced Tool.
Installed proper driver beforehand.
It was possible to read (PK2AT) and write passwords from and to the phone, BUT when I type it on touchscreen, there's still a message: "Incorrect... "
What the H**L is happening? :S
Anyone? Any idea would be appreciated!
I have more than 500 contacts there, unaccessible now.

Q1: Aside of flashing it, can I use somehow master clear or master reset by a cable?

Q3: Does Master clearing/reseting cleans A780 phonebook or not?

I don't know a way to do so. (someone else?)

you need a telnet access!
copy your native.db to a save place (this contains your contacs)

reset not, but Master clear deletes all (if i remember correctly)

My OS X 10.4.11 cant "see" Zaurus drivers and USBNET modem.

How to use Zterm to put A780 into USBNET mode?
AT+MODE=13
AT+MODE=99
returns ERROR

I got these responses:

Did I miss something??
Next step should be setting TCP/IP addy on USBNET for teleneting.. right? But first, how to make Zaurus to work, to be shown and listed there in Networks?

Hi,

i will discribe from my view what i think...


1. at+mode doesnt work on all models/country version. So if you want to use the usbnet, you need to run a script (echo MotNet > /proc/usbd-switch) from the phone. There is also a way to telnet over ppp connection therefore you need again a script.
The only way i found is that you need a modded firmware to use the usbnet when phone is not realy up.

2. I think password reset with PST doesnt work because it will only change a seem and not the file where the password is stored.

3. Maybe there is a chance to clear codes with Radiocomm (not OS X) i dont know never used this program.

From my point of view, if radiocomm doesnt work, last chance is to flash your mobile and loose your data!
Save data is daily business these days. You can find backup scripts in this forum (no need of an windows system).

I have a Idea for a solution:

This way is only for experienced people and it is not short and fast.....
I never done it but i am sure that it will work....


I) Overwrite the password


1. Get a CG36(setup) part of your firmware. This is the part that inlcudes this file "ezx_system.cfg"

2. Create a shx file included:
"ramldr" and "CG36"
I never created one but there are some people who done it.
Look for msftool maybe it's helpful.

3. Flash the shx to your phone e.g. PST.

Thats it! Password is clear....

When this not working because the file in ezxlocal is maybe only a copy you can try to activated USBlan with nearly the same method:


II) Activate Telnet

For example these
/etc/hotplug/acm_fd.agent
/etc/hotplug/usbcable.agent
repack to cramfs

2. Create a shx file included:

3. Flash the shx to your phone e.g. PST.

Thats it ! This is the way to activate the usblan in your situation. You will need a lot of information this is only a short explanation.
