your provider is telling bullshit.
what is your provider?
I tried to get the mms settings from my service provider, but I always get a message that a browser update is required instead. Can anybody tell me how to perform an update?

My provider is 'congstar' which is connected to 't-mobile'. At first I did get an SMS telling me that my cell phone was not ready to receive MMS messegas and that they would send me the corresponding settings which I should approve.
Then I did get another messege telling me that I should update my browser, however, probably it was just some sort of poor translation because I found out that there is an update button with the messages that installs t-mobiles MMS settings.
So I do have my providers MMS setup now. Anyhow, they also sent me an MMS but I always get "MMS: Download failed!" and I get the same error over and over again when clicking on "download again"...
Something must still be wrong, but I can't figure out what it is.
Then I tried to send an MMS to myself. Sending works fine, but instead of receiving it I only get an SMS with an Internet Link where I can view the MMS content.
Hello
Maybe it is better to do it manually. I think congstar is only in Germany so here are the settings in german
MMS Einstellungen:
APN: internet.t-mobile
1. DNS: 193.254.160.1
2. DNS: -
Benutzername: congstar
Passwort: congstar
IP-Adresse: dynamisch
IP-Header Komprimierung: nein
Proxy verwenden: ja
Proxy: 172.28.23.131
Portnummer: 8008
Nachrichtenserver: http://mms.t-mobile.de/servlets/mms
And here again the auto configuration link. There you can choose your model maybe that is helpful i dont know.

In any apple is a worm. Through each window flies a bug.
That's why I take Linux, because what does not fly can not crash.
is it really
APN: internet.t-mobile
or did you just forget the ".de"
I'll give it a try
i have no APN in MMS settings.
i think there should be a .de![]()
There is no '.de' and apart from the "Profile" itself I had to configure an MMS connection in setup (there you'll find the APN as well). I set up both following Halftux' suggestions, connection and profile (apparently GPRS has to be anabled for the connection to work) and now it's working fine.
However, I wonder what will happen if I close the connection and turn down GPRS to save battery power. Will I get a message that there is an MMS and that I should turn it on, or will I only get the SMS with an internet link like before. Or might it even work without GPRS?
Maybe I'm going to try this eventually.
oops!
thanks for correction.
good to see, that it works for you.
