Who distribute/brodcast the firmware in .shx ? Is it Motorola ? a hacker ?

It's also a legal gray area. It seems like Motorola could seek both copyright and trade secret protection for SHX files. As such, this very site could get C&D'd for posting SHX files, although there are much more public examples of people posting modified firmware ( http://motox.us ) and seemingly not receiving complaints. On the other hand, other sorts of infringing materials, such as PST and service manual documents, are actively sought out and taken down by site admins. This seems a bit unbalanced, where do you guys draw the lines and why?
