Upgraded to R52_G_0D.74.A2R?

For those of you who took the plunge and upgraded to R52_G_0D.74.A2R_0D.C0.B1P firmware, please post your experiences here.

1) After logging into Gmail through Opera, I get the following error:

"Your browser's cookie functionality is turned off. Please turn it on."

I've looked everywhere and can't find how to turn them on.

2) Flashkit no longer works.

When launching rwflash.lin, it never unlocks the MTD partitions. I am guessing this is because rwflash.o was created with the older kernel. Does anyone have the newer kernel module to allow us to use flashkit again?

3) IM client doesn't work.

After configuring the IM client and clicking on connect, I receive "Operation failed" and the client exits.

Has anyone else gotten the IM client to work with the new firmware?

4) AT+MODE=99 no longer works.

We already knew about this issue. Executing echo MotNet > /proc/usbd-switch allows us to telnet in to the phone again.

5) EDGE is diabled.

We already knew about this issue. By modifying the 0032_0001.seem fixes this issue. (Thanks evaldas!)

As testing goes on, I am sure I will be adding to this list. Has anyone else been experiencing any issues minus the CoPilot issues?

Using "American" 74 firmware (does this mean we'll be seeing the "new" A780 w/ secure BP and GPS in the US?), and the "less optimized" A780 flex from the USBMode thread. I haven't tried GMail since flashing, but login on MotorolaFans works now (I always got the cookies message with other firmwares). It seems I can't install new Java apps since flashing.

Flashkit: haven't tried writing. The modules do load, and rwflash appears to create the writable devices, and reading from them produces working cramfs images.

IM client: haven't tried, not sure what appropriate settings are, or what service it's for, etc.

Before installing the less-optimized flex, I was unable to install mpkg (so no way to get into net mode), and many things were missing in Opera - it would not work unless I connected to GPRS manually, bookmarks list was empty with all methods to add bookmarks disabled, no home page menu option, etc.

I've searched a bit for the Java issue, but found nothing yet. I've only tried with Google Local for Mobile and a random game off of getjar.com. In both cases, the JAD file downloaded properly, but the phone says that the JAR is invalid.

Look at the difference with your BP version and mine. This could be why you can't do a lot of the things you mentioned. I can install java programs and add bookmarks to Opera with any issues.

As for your .jad download. You only need to download the .jar files. Click on .jar and it should ask you what folder you would like to install it in.

Since you have gotten this far, I would first work on getting your BP version the same as mine.

I also get a corrupt startup logo; did anyone get that problem.
f0x0r, how did you get that BP version? did you flash with the same files?

1. IM client: haven't tried, but i use for chat QuikIM and Colibry, both works.
2. Opera was upgaded from 850 to 1027. (about cookies , i don't know.)
I just change home page to opera:blank
3. AT+MODE=99 works.
4. EDGE works after Seem edting.
5. Installation of JAR, MPKG works
6. LinLoader works

Just one problem: How to synchronize this phone ? MPH don't work. (using V3.40), or there is no way to use USB to do that.
Using ezxsync , same rezults. Do i need Bluetooth for synchronize phone ?

Flashing the full optimized flex instead of the less optimized fixed java. Still haven't tried writing with flashkit, can you detail what went wrong for you with flashkit?

Just tried gmail. It works, login on amazon works as well. No cookie problems AFAICT.

Just flashed rootfs via flashkit, it failed to verify but phone boots and my modified rootfs is clearly in effect (phone starts up with IP masquerading enabled). For some reason, it doesn't pass packets for me until I run mack's unmasq and masq scripts, although iptables shows that my rules were loaded at boot. Nothing so far will make the IM client work, but it looks like everything else is fine.

Flashkit works and so does gmail. My lousy mistake.
