Installing MPKG

Okay, after searching the forums for how to install the MPKG installer for a very long time, I have decided to just ask. I have gotten the A780 a couple of days ago and this is what I think to know.

The MPKG installer is used to install either .pkg or .mpkg installer packages and there are a lot of fun apps available in these formats. To be able to install the MPKG installer you first need to install the Linloader app (which is basically just a way to run scripts without telnetting to your A780).

I therefore installed Linloader as per the instructions discussed www.motorolafans.com/index.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=586] here[/url].

After succesfully running the test.lin script I then followed the instructions listed
here. Only doing step 2 in the readme, because step 1 deals with installing Linloader (I think).

But I get no response what so ever if I run the mpkg.lin on my phone. Does anyone know what I could be doing wrong? Do I need a mpkg.lin specifically for the A780?

Can nobody help me with this? I know there must be a lot of new A780 owners with the same question.

i also get no reply with linloader whatsoever
doesn't seem to matter which .lin file i try

only test.lin works as promised and generates the test.txt file
everything else failes on my A780

allright might be something hardcoded into the linloader script?

at least I get themes working when i first put them into
My Phone's folder so *NOT* in one of the subfolders

then the files get recognized by Linloader
I still need to test ahead but it might help you somewhat

Same problem here: i can install linloader (and with success, with free included test1.txt! ) but no other applications.
I'm trying to install the mpkg package but it reapeatitly fails. (the mpkg package is used to install .PKG and .MTF files???)


It's a dutch A780 GPS, with original firmware.

Hi,

I had the same problem with a Dutch FW phone.

After flashing the OPTIMIZED_SETUP it works ok and you get some nice extra features for free
