GCOA780000SA061 is correct, not a typo. Check it out, that version is listed as part of a few variants of the R52_G_0D.50.AE firmware in www.motorolafans.com/index.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=1362]this thread[/url]Originally Posted by evaldas
So EDGE support is enabled or disabled by the BPFlex?

Yes, but does it run Linux?
is the copilot software available for us to copy on the card?
My phone's fw was exactly identical to Samr7's, down to the BPFlex version, after flashing the north american 0D.74 . It was a HK version with EDGE.Originally Posted by samr7
Because of my own stupidity, I reflash my phone with the firmware found here http://www.www.motorolafans.com/inde...ewtopic&t=1362 , version R52_G_0D.50.AEP_0D.39.B1P hoping that I can once again hand write Chinese on my phone. I figure the AP & BP are the same as my original fw as when I first bought the phone. Little did I know this fw have a different BPFlex. When I turn on my phone, I no longer see the E signal, all I get is G. I desperately wanted my EDGE back, so I reflash back to the 0D.74 hoping that might work. It didn't....![]()

My firmware now reads:
R52_G_0D.74.A2R
BP: R52_G_0D.39.B1P
BPFlex:
GSOA780T672ZD061
DSP 62252500
I guess the BPFlex does control the EDGE function since the only difference is that. The weird thing is I used the Mobile Speed Test and the result is the same as before when I still have the E.
Anybody by any chance know where I can find a firmware with BPFlex GCOA780000SA061? I would love to get my EDGE back.
Thanks for the tip about EDGE and the BPFlexes.Originally Posted by leo14888
The German variant of the 74.A2 firmware floating around claims in the file name to include a different BPFlex GCOA780000E1025. Perhaps that one doesn't disable EDGE? It would be truly interesting to get a release notes file for the European firmware, and especially a tool to recombine pieces of SHX files.
With HTTP-based speed checks, and my provider T-Mobile USA, it appears to bottleneck on their lame WAP gateway before even approaching the GPRS bandwidth limit.Originally Posted by leo14888
