    Default 2GB MicroSD is unavailable

Hi, I have one 1GB card (kingston) and two 2GB card (A-Data and SanDisk) 1GB work fine, but when I insert 2GB card, Phone say " TransFlash card inserted" but in Device status is TransFlash Card: unavailable. Cards are formated to FAT16 under linux. What is wrong? Thanks

A780 support TransFlash up to 1 GB only.

you can try to format with VFAT.
maybe the mobile is recognizing the card and you can reformat in the A780.

There are two kinds of micro SD ; one named micro SD only and an other one named micro SD Ultra II. The first one works with Motorola phones. If you got the second one - it's very fast - good for cameras and USB-Memory but not for phones, sorry.

I got a Ultra II working in my A780 without problems. Its a 2GB MircoSD Ultra II from Sandisk. For my A780 its perfect.

Try formatting the MicroSD Card with your Motorola A780 or with Windows XP (FAT). Please let us know if this solved your problem.

    Best regards

    Thanks to all.
I format card to VFAT and FAT(under WinXP) But nothink works. Card is still unavailable. But when I format card to EXT2/EXT3(and copy openmoko on it) and boot OpenEZX kernel, it works fine, I have full 2GB capacity.

I don't know but maybe it is a firmware problem? Which firmware do you have?
