if you need a working phone for daily use the A780 is better.
they have different designs.
i dont know a navigation app for openmoko and if copilot is working i am not sure.
openmoko is only the GUI(framework. it will run on both mobiles.
Hi!
I'm going to buy a linux mobile...
Do you think is better Motorola A780 or Neo1973 with openmoko?
Who has the best support?
..and...
What about gps navigation apps for openmoko? Are the good as copilot? is the map coverage good (i'm in italy...)?
Can I install copilot on openmoko?
Thanks!

It depends on the time you have:
If you want to buy an A780, just go ahead and get one at ebay, for the Neo1973 GTA02 with WLan you may have to wait until christmas.
And don´t forget: Rokr Z6 and Razr V8 are linux mobiles, too.. they´re said to have fast processors, so.. why not? Well, probably because these are non touch-screen phones, it will take a long time to run them on a free kernel and I don´t think OpenMoko will run on non-touchscreen phones out of the box.
My advice: Get a cheap A780 and later an OpenMoko.
(joking: Or get an A910 and help me on making the Wifi work with all networks)
thanks guys, i think i'll buy an A780 now and an openmoko after christmas![]()
