    @nicoljl
    Mobile GMaps is a FREE application that displays Google Maps, Yahoo! Maps, Windows Live Local (MSN Virtual Earth) and Ask.com Maps and satellite imagery on Java J2ME-enabled mobile phones, PDAs and other devices. MGMaps can connect to a GPS receiver over bluetooth or use internal GPS features on some phones in order to automatically display the map for your current position.

    depends on your data plan.

    I tried this out.

    The software itself works flawlessly in full screen and displays gorgeous satellite imagery.

    Sadly I could not get the internal GPS to work, really (even with the a780 version of mGmaps, though there is a bit of a version confusion - maybe I still don't have the right one, the website is a bit confusing on that).

    I could only get a GPS fix with CoPilot running and then only "one gps fix per program change", that is, run CoPilot...wait for fix...change to mGmaps, have one fix....change to CoPilot...wait for fix...change to mGmaps, etc.

    Seeing that mGmaps actually supports other map providers (MSN, Yahoo) it is "better" than Google Maps at the moment, I think. (Google maps works great on the a780 too, installable from mobile.google.com)

    Default mGmaps screenshots on my a780

    This is a hybrid Google maps view of Düsseldorf. You can zoom in further (really as much as on the maps.google.com site) (Düsseldorf has very high resolution. Check the "burgplatz" for single people and the post truck!)

    Second is a yahoo maps view

    @ bpvdm,

    take the gpsdump created by Floe and start this with Qonsole. Gps are working stabil. After this start Gmaps.
    Gmaps are working with this. I´ve tested it today.

    Default I tried Too..

    This is one snap from my A780.
    erm.. i dun need to pay any GPRS fee. Because i was using the internet sharing from my Desktop by bluetooth. But i only can browse the map, because my A780 is Asian version and the GPS not workable.

    BTW, for those who experiencing a situation that A780 is keep on repeating asking the permission of accesing the internet, TRY replace the original application's permfile with this one i added below. :P

    Try it out and giv a reply :P
