Default Thinking about getting a Ming and I have a couple questions.

I've been thinking about getting this phone but before I drop 300 bones on it I wanted to ask a few questions.

Here are my requirements. I'm in the states and I need a PDA phone that will sync with MS Outlook, work with T-Mobile for phone calls, internet access, and text messaging, work in English, and I need to be able to store somewhere around 500mb of data.

So far the 1200 looks like it will work. I haven't seen anything or heard anything about the Outlook sync though. Can somebody tell me if it will indeed work with Outlook? And how robust, easy to use is the calendar on the phone itself?

I avoid Look Out like the plague, but T Mobile and text messaging work well. It is in english, and you can use a 2G micro SD card, according to the manual.

I am going to turn on internet access soon, I'll let you know if it works.

If Im right it will only sync with Outlook IF you have Motorola Phone Tools installed to your computer. It's not like you sync the same way you sync with something like a Palm.

I don't mind having to sync with the Motorola tools I just need a decent PDA phone and I don't really care for the phone offerings that T-Mobile has. And Outlook was really the deal breaker since the company I work for uses it for everything. They couldn't live without their meeting scheduler crap.

I sync my A1200 everyday with Microsoft Office Outlook at work - and it works very smoothly. There is a bit of a bug in that if a meeting time is changed after you sync and you sync again then the original is not removed from the phone's calendar - but minor glitch.

Thanks everyone sounds like this phone will work well for me.

Anything I should be aware of when I buy this or anything special I should look out for when setting this thing up?

As Antares Requiem (that works for Motorola, and have acess to their Database) said...
A1200i, is not a BRANDED phone, "i" menas international, and is just another FW version... By the way, his ming is A1200i and is factory unlocked/unbranded. According to him, A1200i is the UNBRANDED WORLD VERSION made in china. You can find it Branded and unbranmded...
