Default Super COOL Procedures to get into 3 Modes using modem mode!!

    '

wel i smuggled some thing from other forum!!

Ok... these procedures are written by someone in chinese, I juz did the translation n tryout on my PC ... it works...
First let me tell u the advantages of using this mode...

    1) U do not have to switch mode eveytime like last time. eg:if u want syn , u use modem, if u want copy files, u use mass storage, if u wan telnet, u use USBLAN. All this will cause plugging in n out your cable , wasting time, n wats more when u are in mass storage, phone features are disabled..

    2) This mode ensures that u are always connected to the phone in modem mode...n u can copy files to ya mass storage n execute the file directly without switching mode... but then again if u want to use telnet command, u can execute it in cmd prompt as usual. In short, this is a "3-in-1" solution!!

    1) get to system properties-> Hardware-> device manager-> modems ->double click on "motorola usb modem", get to advanced-> extra initialisation string, enter "at+mode=13", click ok n close

    2) Next u gotta create a dialup network connection to connect to your MING in USBLAN mode. Goto network connection wizard-> choose "connect to the network at my workplace", select "dialup connection", enter a connection name eg. "MING USBLAN", enter "000" for phone no., select to "place shortcut on desktop".

    3) If u click on network connections now, u should see a USBLAN dialup network. Modify the dialup connection properties to use "motorola usb modem" as connect device, uncheck "prompt for phone no" under options. close .

    4) Now click on the shortcut icons to start the dialing, u will encounter an "error", click "CANCEL" n u will get connected to the phone in USB LAN Mode. how do ya know?

    5) get to explorer, map a drive to "\\"IP"\system"
u can see al the files in this directory like when u are un USB mode. u can copy n do file ops here!!!

    6) if u want to telnet the phone, get to cmd prompt, type telnet "your IP", login root.... ur in>>

    TO check your Phones IP address ;
    start>run>type"cmd"
    in MSDos type 'ipconfig'..

thanks to luckdip n that chinese guy

    dirty smugglers

there is no problem with digging in the other forums here.
you will find a lot useful things.
some needs a little more work to get it run on A1200.
but some are working out of the box

what you found is nice for usb.
but here is another for bluetooth:
    http://www.motorolafans.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1976

i dunno if this works on A1200 but it is worth a try.

    p.s.
if you improve your wording, it will be a greatful help for HowTo's or Guides. most members here are not native english. some are chinese

    gurneek:

Are you trying to say that this works without installing smbd, inetd or sshd?

    I doubt.
