New Interface in ROKR E6, how bout ming?

maybe ming can use this firmware..
but not sure when will it be released!!
the interface looks so damn cool!
As u can see from the 3rd pic, the menus slides from right to left smoothly!!

Yep, but it has far less features than the MING, the interface you se is a version of JUIX, JUIX is an extremely scaled down version of EZX. You cant install apps nor is there even a taskmanager, its quite stupid actually , in the sense it is'nt a smart phone to the truest meaning of the word. The OS has two .system files nd even if you copy apps to any of the system files they're unrecognised.

well askd its still a linux n java mix , i dn't have any idea abt JUIX but still motorola users have great minds they'll find a way here or there to hack this too.. ,

Nope it is'nt if you've seen it you'd realise. Theres very little chance of hacking, if not impossible. Motorla have learnt their lesson it seems. I just hope EZX does'nt get phased out with JUIX scheduled for release in a few weeks. A stable build of the Z6 has been manufactured so I'm not too sure what the delay is in releasing it. And heres somethin not many people outside moto know. The E2 is'nt JUIX..... its EZX with a non touch screen interface. The first actual JUIX phone is going to be the RIZR/ROKR Z6.

Talking about Ming with a different UI, there was some talk about a Windows based MING undergoing testing, but I doubt it'll ever reach the market .

abt win on ming it will not b the same as linux platform.. windows has its owm issuses abt programin n things.!!

No it'll be totally different, but as I said i dont think its for release, just prototyping for some future model. I mean to say that if you want a fast non smart phone and to show of saying I gotlinux on my phone then its fine. If you want to hardcore mod then it is'nt fine....lol. Like SE, if you want a K790 its because you want a good phone/cam/MusicPlayer cant do much more than that, although now the modding scene is hotting up with SE phones too.

Take the Z6 for example it going to be a phone and thats it, a very fast phone though and do you wnat to know why Moto are commiting such a huge blunder. Their head of Linux is a complete Java man, JUIX was his idea. He thinks that Java is a "future" platform but thats all humbug eventually all phones are goin to have to be smart, you can see that from the present market trend, Most Nokia are S60, SE bought UIQ, Apple has entered the fray with OSX, BUT, the OSX platform is like JUIX no external applications. Samsung are testing the water with S60, Windows and Linux. So if Motorola actually kill the EZX platform its going to be bad for them unless they have an alternative in mind, since EZX is quite dated, 2001 I think, the core still has remained the same from the A768. And if they want good phones they better step up their specs, from what I've heard theres a 3.2Mpx P2K KRZR under testing but no A/F, then need to incorporate A/F and they need something revolutionary. If you notice the menu changing thing with regards to the E6 above, without altering source code etc.., I was doing that with my W800 1.5years ago, the engineers at Moto are just plain stupid or blind....lol Its not new, All I'm doing is waiting for the next EZX touchscreen, first thing I hear about it I'l post it here

i agree to ur long post ,

basiclly i don't like java phones. can't do much with them..long way back i used K700i for just 3-4 months ( still having it) , i dn't know much moddin on SE coz i never care that time but i guess tis time i should play with it too...

nokia.. quite impresive with its symbian 60s OS mainly with 3660,3650,600,7610 but iHATE wat they had done with n-series .. in my opinion they really should worked alot more than they did on n-series...
n the touchscreen phn by nokis 7710 n some 6780 are shit>>
wel i dn't know abt new e-series, but still nokia doesn't know how to make touchscreen phn..

bt still motorola had really impresed us all with touchscreen n EZX line up,
i agree motorola is keepin the same EZX platform from it earlier phns they shuld built up a new GUI system for their future line ups.. but feep it EZX
