    Default Help with Destinator for Ming (GPS)

    Hello Guys,

    I'm not sure if somebody is seeing the topic bellow http://www.motorolafans.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=7785

    Maybe somebody is also interested in having GPS running in your Ming.

    I have Destinator6.1 "partially" running in my Ming and I would like to see if someone can help trying to put standard Destinator maps into the Ming, because it seems the file type used in the Linux version is different from the map files used for Windows version.

    If someone would like to help, please let me know.

    Pondo,

    I have already posted my latest information at http://www.motorolafans.com/forums/v...r=asc&start=50.

    However , in order to make things easier, here is:

    1. The application software is availabe at : http://www.motorolafans.com/forums/download.php?id=3700

    2.The refresh application didn't work for my phone, I don't know why. This refresh is available at:
    http://www.destinatortechnologies.ne...or_refresh.zip

    3. If anybody needs help how to get a license, because the software asks for a license, please let me know. Maybe I can help somehow.

    4. The chinese maps which came with the Destinator are big, and if someone can advice me how to share these files, I can upload somewhere for everybody.

    5. The manual is available at http://www.motorolafans.com/forums/download.php?id=3570

    Besides this I also heard about Navione as a GPS, but I could not find anything.

    Please let me know any update or advance if someone can help.

    In order to install properly, the RAR file must be extracted with all folder structure.

    Inside \destinator\install\ you will find the MPKG file in order to install the application in your phone.

    Hope this helps.

    Seems good ^^, does Destinator use any GPRS connection ? Because I ve no money for GPRS.

    Does this software needs a GPS by the way or does the phone is the only thing we needed ? ^^

    EDIT : The software doesn't to install :'( , don't know why ? I'm using the 24X49p from Mischka. It writes Invalid software O_O

    @mahavir

    I never used Destinator6 but I'm sure u have to use an external bluetooth i.e Globalsat SIRF III.

    As i know with Tomtom Navigator, the only way to use GPS without external bluetooth is to practise GPS in "advanced destination" in Settings on the main screen....not sure to get this kind of practise on Destinator 6....

    @ michalack

    I could install the MPKG file directly without needing to rename to PKG file.

    Doesn´t your phone enable you to install with MPKG file?

    I can share my \.system\cardregistry file in case you want to see if it solve the issue...

    I could hear that some users tried to install but didn´t work.

    @mahavir
    For what I have read in the manual : to use GPS you need to buy a bluetooth GPS device, it doesn´t use GPRS .

    You might be able to use single maps tool without GPS function. But I could not put the Destinator to work with map so far. Just the aplication.

    @shigeru

    you don´t need any antenna for GPs. You need to have a bluetooth GPS such as Holux GR236 or any other.
