I bought my phone at Compusa. It's the a1200r running 25p. I don't know if that helps or not, being that I bought it over a month ago.
I don't know about changing the fw, though. Sorry.
I know the MING is now out in the US at compusa stores as the "DigiMOTO" they ran out of them at the store near me, but I was wondering if anyone has any idea what firmware it's running or has one, and if I could flash to that firmware if I have a hong kong model 53p, I called motorola and they said it can't be done but when I called a month ago they said it would probably be possible.
I also want to know if im correct in thinking that i can flash to the 30p/46p hybrid and if I like it I can flash to the original or c2, and if I don't i can go to any firmware I have downloaded.

Thanks, That's all I needed to know about the US Ming. anyone one know if I have the right Idea about flashing to the new hybrid firmware then to the new debranded c2 version?
I'm so glad I read this. I thought I was going crazy. I saw the "Digimoto" at Compusa, so I came home and searched for "digimoto" online. I couldn't find ANYTHING about a Digimoto. Eventually, I figured out that it was the A1200 aka Ming. I couldn't figure out where I had got the whole Digimoto idea. Thanks for clarifying!
stupid "marketing strategies"... In brazil is known as MotoTASK now in USA DigiMoto... lol... its the freaking Ming A1200. Why Moto do that?...
My guess is that MOTO thought that calling the phone "Ming" in the US, which is obviously a jap/china reference. I think they thought that calling it "DigiMoto", it wouldn't scare away any customers into thinking they were buying something that didn't belong in the US.
My guess is that they were just trying to appeal the phone to a broader customer base.
