    Where in India are you coming mate? Maybe we can help you out regarding connection etc..

    EDIT: Sorry, saw your post about Pune. I think one of us can organise a card for you, if you're coming to Karnataka or Bangalore I'd be glad to give you my spare sim.

    YO YO ! AIRTEL RULES

    I have Airtel Prepaid with MobileOffice (GPRS) activated (Rs.7 per day unlimited download) and roam a lot in Maharasgtra, Goa and Karnataka. It gives clean and neat GPRS evreywhere with its own network always there, even in small towns or villages. Now I dont need to carry laptop or go to cybercafe to send and receive pop3 mailbox for small conversations. I any case cybercafes are almost impossible to find in small towns and villages. So Ming saves you. I can do that outdoors too.

    If you want good GPRS Internet there is only one option AIRTEL. Others sucks...tried them all as I carry CDMA phones too.

    And yes I myself enabled EDGE on my MING with the help of this forum and my internet speed increased at least by 400% than before.

    As for the handset itself it will not give a problem. I purchased one in India and am using it here in UAE and its amazing.
    I am from Mumbai and mobile dealer, sim card seller etc etc. believe me, Hutch (Formarly Orange) is completely washed away with Airtel. Since Essar has taken BPL and HUTCH, both the companies are about to die and seems not picking up in front of Airtel.

    Of course these are my own experiences (my bizness) and opinion and I dont have any objection if some1 keeps different view!

    in short, dont offer your simcard to anyone.

    @indiacam

    Truly spoken it all depends on personal experience. I agree that Airtel has the largest network. But I never received adequate services from them. I have used cellular service since the last 8 years, started off with Command in Calcutta (now Hutch) and in between these years tried all sorts of service providers Spice, Idea, Airtel, BPL, Orange, Mobilink, but never had as much as a good experience with them as with Hutch line-up. Always had to switch back from the suggested alternatives.

    At present I still have my Hutch Post-Paid and enjoy a credit worth of INR50,000 along with a host of other priviliges and benefits. Even my payments get delayed by month or 2 my services never get barred.

    That is my experience so its definitely good for me
