Default Configuring the E-MAIL Application in MING for WAP

    Hello Moto,

I recently subscribed to a WAP connection through my provider (Airtel in India). It costs about $2 a month. This connection gives me unlimited access to any WAP portal( The connection is through GPRS ).

    My doubt is the following:
We have an "email application" that comes with MING.Can I use it in such a way that my "GMAIL" comes directly to the inbox of this "E-MAIL Application in MING"

I have a broadband connection for my PC and I'm able to get my GMAIL on OutLook Express .For which I configured SMTP and POP settings.

I tried configuring SMTP and POP on MING to..But not able to acces mails.

Is there any way that Using WAP (I think TCP/IP is required for SMTP/POP)I will be able to get my GMAILs(OR ANY OTHER MAIL SERVICE eg: YAHOO) into the inbox of the "EMAIL application in MING".

    Thanks,

Yes you can receive gmail through the email application

DO a search for gmail in this forum. There's a step by step guide written somewhere here.
"If I am somewhere where no one knows me,
And I also know no one,
What I thought I'd do there was,
I'd become one of those deaf mutes...

    Yes I did so.
I get an error telling that host not found. It connects to the server.

Will this setting work if I have wap access also.

I think the link is http://www.motorolafans.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=9641

I guess you can't use the default email client. I don't really know your data plan because i've never seen anything like it here, but you are probably stuck in a wap proxy and cannot make any other kind of connection because all data must pass through this proxy... Well, n oproblem because google is your friend! Try this in your phone:
    mobile.google.com

I think this address works as a proxy so you can access normal http websites.

If you cant find a link to gmail, try this:
    gmail.com

You will be redirected to the mobile gmail website.

Yes I too think I'm struck with some WAP proxy.

I'm able to access mobile.google.com and many other wap portals. Also I'm able to access gmail mobile. (all through Opera)

But I'm not able to access it through "EMAIL application in MING".

So I guess this is not possible. Thanks for all the help.
Please do let me know if there is some workaround.
