    Default Edge and battery life

I discovered (thanks guys!) and ran the script to activate Edge on my Ming last night about 8pm after fully charging it. Since then I checked a few web sites, listened to about 3 songs, made a 5-10 minute call, played a Java game for about 20 minutes, and used the alarm to wake up in the morning. Nothing excessive usagewise, normally I would go 2-3 days with this usage before charging. By 9am this morning, my battery was dead!

I have the H2...08P firmware. Dropped it a few times. But never had the battery die in less than one day wouthout lots and lots of phone calls.

Anyone else experience battery life problems with Edge activated? Any possible solutions to extend battery life? Believe I already have the screen set to 50% power.

I loaded edge and I do find that I have to recharge my battery every 1.5 to 2 days. I have 25 firmware. Before loading edge I would only needed to charge once a week.

I had no changes in battery life after enabling EDGE. The battery lasted for 2 days before, and 2 days now.

Nothing personal, but I think that's really really unlikely. I never saw a A1200 last for more than 3 days.

oops... 06P, not 08P was thinking about the upgrade but never did it, duh!

Anyway, I have been doing the same usage without the Internet, and I'm still near a full charge after 24 hours. I've gone almost a week with light usage myself, but 2 days is average with calls and using the software on the phone regularly.

I'm wondering if its specifically the Internet. Maybe it stayed connected or something. I'll try some experiments over the weekend, and post it if I find something conclusive.

Also, last night I've made 2 consecutive calls that connected me only to static and I had to hang up and try again. That very rarely happened before, never twice in a row.

I'm not one to really use the phone alot and yes it lasted for a week. If I received a call or used the phone at the end of that week then the low battery would signal.

I think I have less battery life, but I was also browsing the heck out of it as well, so I think that takes a lot of processing power and transmissions. If you want to save some of that power, turn off gprs when you do not need it.

I've noticed the battery life on my Ming is suffering as well after enabling EDGE.

I can disable it, but will I still be able to send/receive text messages w/ the EDGE disabled?

    I have 25P.
