Default Really serious problem after installing PKG

    Hello,

After installing Barcode Reader from this topic: http://www.motorolafans.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=9856, my phone started having some really serious issues.

First, I can't open or even uninstall the reader.

All my Java applications have stopped working. I can't seem to be able to uninstall or update any of them either.

Is there anything I can try?

I am almost trying a master reset, but I don't know if that will solve the problem.

And most importantly: no matter what, I won't flash a new firmware. Since I have the "i" version, my phone has many features the other ones don't, and I really won't lose that. If I have no other choice I will just send the phone back to Motorola for repair and will never try to install stupid pkg files again in my life.

    Any help is fine.

    Thanks

Did you make a backup of your .system folder before installing?

If yes try if it works with the backup :system folder.

If not, make a backup now and delete .system folder on TF. After that the phone creates a new .system folder, you can install some stuff and look if it works. Or copy mpkg .system folder on TF and reinstall your apps (without barcode reader, it's useless anyway).

You may have already tried this - but I sometimes find taking out the battery for a minute helps sort things out with the phone.

    I found out the problem.

For some stupid reason the barcode reader changed the VM heap to something stupidly high. I had an old .system folder backup, so I just compared them and put the old value back (24). I also uninstalled the reader manually, by deleting the folders and the lines on the files.

Now my programs work again. I'm glad it was only a card issue, not the phone.

Thank you very much for the help.
