Check out radio shack. I got one from there yesterday.
I would like to use plain old headphones for my Ming, is there an adapter, or cheap source for the actual 4 pin mini headphone jack so I can splice and dice? I like my gigantic bose headphones I won at a training, keeps the riff raff quiet.
I mean standard cell phone mini jacks are 3 pin, speaker, mic, common ground... but this is left spk, right spk, mic, common ground, and don't even know where to look to find this plug?

awesome, good to know. Is it called a 2.5mm jack?
I found the pinout of the stereo mini-jack whatever it is, from pin to base it goes
Ground <- Right <- Left <- Microphone <- Wire
You can use any Nokia N-gage 3.5mm adapter. This adapter allows you to connect your 3.5mm headphones to ming's 2.5mm jack.Originally Posted by Ocelaris

Great Thanks! I ended up buying that N-Gage adapter, but also ended up getting the Moto H820 A2DP or whatever, stereo blue tooth headset... don't really need the headset, but why not, never owned a blue tooth device before... my wife HATES blue tooth people, this is gonna kill her! oh well, the H280 headset takes a cord also if you wanna save battery power which I may end up doing... and USB charger by the looks of it... interoperability...
Once you go Bluetooth, you never go back. I had the SE W900 and used to use the wired headset, then I switched to my V3x and bought the Samsung SBH-100 stereo BT headset. Boy was it a difference! Being able to just leave my phone in my pocket or bag with no extra cord really felt....great! No more tangled cords or cord getting caught on something. Also there's no chance of the cord popping out accidentally and your music playing over the speakerphone while studying in the library (Which did happen to me a couple of times).
The only downside is that if you're on the phone with someone using the bluetooth set, people'll think you're talking to yourself or something...at least hat's what my friends and co-workers thought when I was on the phone with the BT headset. I also got a few strange looks while on the street and such.![]()
What is the Radio Shack part number? Hopefully, it will be the same part number in "The Source by CC"Originally Posted by Crazed
I went to radio shack saturday, and they did not have the correct part, maybe it was just that radio shack, but the guy called it a 1.8mm? But it was the right size, just only had 3 pins, i.e. mono audio + mic... no luck. Looks like they have it listed on line though...

2.5mm 4 pole to 3.5mm stereo headphone jack, 9.99$
Model: FG-06-0518-1A
Catalog #: 274-004
But it says out of stock... so you're up in the air whether they will have it pretty much.
Is the Sony Ericsson HBH-DS970 Stereo Bluetooth Headset is any good? I was wondering if I could use the same with my A1200? Is it compatible? Also would I be able to hear FM radio over this headset and use it as a handsfree talk device
Thanks
You can only do radio if you physically plug something into the phone, because it uses the ground wire as an antenna.
Found out that alot of phones go
GND-> Right -> Mic -> Left
Instead of how ours goes
GND -> Right -> Left -> Mic
So you may need some "configuration" if you get the wrong one, as I did from some online store... also apparently they're on ebay like flies on shit... DID NOT KNOW THIS! but it's very common and easily available... ebay, your place for cheap plastic crap!
I think people don't use curse words on the internet enough. People (meaning you) use smiley faces all the time, when a simple fuck, shit, crap, ass, etc... would do much better... LOL! (please stop using LOL)
