As far as the memory goes, all available information points to 2GB being the most that you can currently use. Can't help you with the Linux questions...
Hi guys,
I just bought a new Moto a1200 3 days ago and I want to buy memory card for it. so my question is what is the limit for this?
Can I install a 4 Gb Memory card on it or a 2 Gb is all it can handle.
and also, as I am a Linux (kubuntu) user and I use KDE-Kontact for my e-mail and contacts, can any one give me a link, how to, or a hint of what should I do. For now Kubuntu doesn't even detect my a1200.
any help will be appreciated.
Thanks

A1200 dosn't support carts bigger than 2GB because it use FAT16, and this file system cannot be used to more than 2GB cart

If yes, you can make a simple app to read data from the handset using AT commands.
I have a Reference manual of AT commands for Motorola phones, but no time to develop an application.
