take a look at the attachment, it's the ming service manual and has complete instructions for disassembling and reassembling your ming, (i think your looking for page 26) let me know if this helps
hello all, i bought an oem full housing for the ming on ebay, nothing wrong with my original cover, i just want to change it from black to white. it came with the torx screwdriver and a blue plastic thing used for prying. i was able to take the 4 screws off the back cover where the battery is. At this point, I was afraid to continue since i might damage the motherboard. there was a thing on top which seems to be attached to the part where the flip is. if someone has a step by step instructions on how i can pry the motherboard that would be great. i'll try if i can attach pictures. i'm also attaching a .rar file from the seller which is supposed to be instructions on how to change the housing but i was unsuccessful in opening the file. i've search this forum but there was no specific details on hoe to change it. i'm hoping i wouldn't need to solder anything. i am not that brave.

thank you for all your help, especially to nodramachicks. i have printed the manual and will try to change the housing tonight. you guys rock!!!!
oh my....it's so much work than i could handle. i'm not sure i will be brave enough to do it myself. has anybody been successful in swapping their housing? any tips? i'm just afraid that these are sensitive parts and i surely don't want to ruin my ming. anybody want to buy my white oem housing set, lol? pm me if you want it, or if anybody is in the fremont, ca area, i can pay a little to do the swap. thanks a lot.
Hey,
Its really alot easier then it seems. If you got the whole housing then it shouldnt be tough. how far did you get?

hello alpha43, i was encourage by your post to try again. i was able to do page 26-40 of the manual. i still have 2 things i need to disconnect before it's done and it wasn't covered by the manual. the flip speaker flex connector seems to be attached to the original housing and i don't know how to disconnect, it's located on the upper part of the phone where the flip is. the other is the bottom part where the navigation keys are. should i unscrew the thing thats sticking out. please help!
Hey,
You didnt have to disconnect the whole phone.. really..All you needed to do is unscrew the phone, remove the housing. Take off the hinge from the chrome hinge. take out the mainboard all together and swap. I dont believe you needed to take everything apart piece by piece.
