Sorry guys...I know you love Linux and stuff, but i have to agree...it would be great to have Windows on our phones....more applications...don´t know...

Forgive if i´m wrong....but it runs Linux....shouldn´t it runs Windows too?!?!

I´ve got the no limit GPRS plan on my phone....want to use Skype!!!
No versions for linux phones yet!

If you guys want mobile 5.0 that badly I suggest you sell your a1200 and buy a windows mobile phone! It's not even worth the hassle to get mobile 5.0 to work on this phone. Linux offers the best chance to unlock this phone's potential in an open source type environment.

Because to make it work on a phone you have to implement bunch of Windows Mobile drivers for A1200 hardware. There is not universal version of WM which can run on any smartphone with ARM processor. It's all about drivers. In theory it is possible but it is not one man work. Not even two.

It is not impossible, but not possible. Get it? haha. Like serg said, its not a one man's job. First of, most developers don't work in a huge group. Second, these developers love linux so why try windows? Third, windows had more applications....but linux has more mods =)

And if you post anything about what you are doing in public forums you will probably have some problems with microsoft because windows mobile is not free software!

yeah, yeah, yeah.....thanks for spoiling my "dream".

Guess i´ll have to do it myself...hahahahah

    (i´m not that clever...)

Anyway, if someone decides to do so...i´ll gladly be a tester!

    Regards,

    David.

It wouldn't even just be a matter of drivers, you're dealing with proprietary hardware that would require the OS to be written for it. It aint going to happen unless motorola and ms are doing it.
