I have .08p and it does the same thing.![]()
hello all!! is it just me or does the battery indicator show 100% & when u plug the phone in all of a sudden it goes to like 5%? is there a software fix 2 make this indicator accurate?![]()
I have .08p and it does the same thing.![]()
I also have the same problem, it is very annoying as I am not sure if my battery is 100% or 60% which it reads when plugged in.
Same problem. 08p.
lol, no worries guys.
its a lil quirky, but its not a bug or anything.
the ming has a habit of showing you 100% of the current charge and telling you how much of it you have left.
if your total charge available is only 50% when you plug the phone in...
and you unplug it, it will show up as 100%. that is to say, 100% of the 50% on full charge. get it?
its a lil thing that helps you see how much battery you have left from the total charge.
thats probably why most ppl only get so little battery life out of their ming. they think its a full charge when its not plugged in and wonder why its dieing so fast. when it only had like 5% of the real charge. lol.
plug your phone in and let it charge on the wall adapter for a while. wait till it reaches FULL CHARGE! thats 100% WHILE ON THE WALL. and then don't plug it back in until its almost dead. You'll notice the difference in battery life.
well, kudou out. 'lata!
i'd say that's more than annoying, it's pretty stupid!! lol, i don't care hom much of 5% i have left, all i care about is what the total charge is lol.... I don't think i've ever had a phone that did this before, so much for the ming being "smart" (too smart for it's own good in this case LOL)
well, its useful either way. but yeah, i found it to be really annoying at first too. if there was way to switch between the two, that would have been awsome.
but i don't mind it so much, the way it is now. maybe i jus made due with it. i dunno
this bug has been around in motorola's phones for a long time. I personally believe the reasoning is lazy coders who don't want to or don't pay attention to the differences in nicad and li-ion batteries. The nicads dropped voltage at a pretty consistent clip when the battery was draining and thus the phone sees x volts out of y total and figures out what percentage is left. Li-ion batteries stay at a pretty constant voltage until they are almost dead, so the battery meter doesn't even know the battery is dying until 3/4 of it is gone already.
i have 53p, are there any firmwares that deal with this issue?
