New A1200 user - Few questions

I am new to this site and new to Motorola Phones. Until I got my 1200 few weeks back, I always used Sony Ericsson Phones. I have a couple of questions and please excuse me if they sound dumb.

How can I find out the current firmware on the phone. I bought it on eBay a few weeks back?
How do I change the play list to hold more than 50 songs?
I am with Cingular and everytime someone leaves a voicemail I do not get a notification, can this be fixed?
Everytime I power cycle my phone, which is not often, I get a 'New Voicemail' notification, even though I do not have a new voicemail or saved messages. Does anyone know why this is happening?
Everytime I check my voice mail I get a blank message, its no big deal but if can be turned off, it will help.

Please let me know.
