Alerts are not being displayed

i have this major problem in my phone.
many a times it doesn't show me missed calls and sms alerts...i.e..(the ! button)
only after i restart, they are shown...can anyone please help me out..
my firmware is .08p

yes, I have tried it. It hasn't solved the problem.
Is there anyone else facing the same problem?

Try changing your theme and then restarting your phone after.

mine does the same thing too once in while. i can't really trace down exactly what causes this but i just turn my phone off and back on again and it will work.

This is ridiculous....a motorola linux based PDA unable to show me missed call alerts and SMSs.
What is the point of having such an advanced phone when it has bugs in silly functions which were performed flawlessly even by my 1st cellphone..a nokia 3315!!!!!
What the hell am I to do?
Restarting only cures the problem temporarily.

how often does it happen to you? mine has only done it about 3 times in the last 5 months so i'm not too annoyed yet.

it happends to me to! the phone doesn´t show the alert icon but it steels making a noise or vibrate when you have a new sms or a missed call!

I experienced this problem while I was running 08p as well. Now that i'm on 24p it has yet to happen.

i guess im lucky i have had this phone for a long time yet i never experienced this problem.

I wonder what causes it.
