Default My brand new A1200 request Unlock Code???

i've just got a brand new red A1200 from my dad. when i finished charging it, i insert my simcard and try to turn it on. and it request unlock code. i read my manual book, and it said the default code is 1234. when i try it, it said "unlock code incorrect!" anybody have a solution to my problem?
Notes: my A1200/Ming box have a sticker of China Mobile. i think that this phone only compatible with the china mobile SIM Card. my father brought it from china to Indonesia. i'm indonesian, sorry for my bad english.

It's either one of two things. One is Good: have you been using a lock key for your SIM card? or has it been programmed with a lock key? if so then try to enter the lock code of your SIM card (and I hope it works).
Two is bad: the phone actually might be locked to China Mobile network and won't accept other than a China Mobile SIM card and then you will have to find someway or someone to unlock the phone for you.

if it said unlock code then it shouldnt be carrier locked.. Im pretty sure its not locked.. IS the phone used? If it is you need to get the password from the seller.

Also maybe your dad is playing a trick on you. haha

IF anything flash the phone and that will reset passwords.

I think my dad didn't tricked it out...he seems a little bit angry when he find out that my MotoMing have a unlock code. when i give the phone to Authorized Service of Indonesian Motorola, they told me to replace the Flash or ROM Memory and it will cost about 500,000 rupiahs (about U$D 50), because they failed to unlock it. should i replace it? or should i try to flash the phone? i hope this phone can be fixed before christmas... hahaha.
is there any risk of failure of the phone if i flash or replace the memory? the phone status, seems brand new. it sealed and still have plastic cover around the body. i guess this cellphone locked to only China Mobile SIM Card.

You need to contact the seller of the phone. They either need to send you a new unlocked phone or they need to get an unlock code from China Mobile. If they will do neither, return the phone to them as as un-usable.

As you're not a customer of CM, they won't provide you an unlock code directly...

If the phone is locket to china mobile sim cards it should say "invalid sim" or somthing!

Normally the phone can start even without sim card. Then it asks if it should start with antenna off or not. So this is only a phone lock, I think.

Did you try "00000000"? or maybe "000000"? If nothing helps, a flash will.

That is simply incorrect. If the phone is locked to a provider and a SIM from a different provider is in the phone, the phone will ask for an unlock code. In fact, that is the ONLY way to get the phone to ask for an unlock code...

It pretty much looks like you phone is locked (not SIM). If 1234 doesn't unlock phone means that somebody (may be your dad ) has changed it already. I think it's pretty clear. Just master reset should help but it is question how to do it on a locked phone.

As usual phones locked to carrier don't ask any code directly. And it calls not unlock code but subsidizer code or similar to that.

Actually Serg is correct. I had forgotten that it will ask for a "Subsidy Unlock Code", not just an unlock code.
