I'd like to have that too, but don't know if A1200 supports this. My A780 (also EZX-phone) does!

I tried a seem edit but it didn't help for A1200. Maybe because I didn't do it correctly (still have problems with seem editing, couldn't get anyone working yet ) or because the seem edit, I used, was for RAZR and not for MING.

The icons, for displaying this, are there but who knows about the software and how to activate?

What does it show? What sort of information?

Is there a difference between the normal cell info display and what you mentioned (micro cellular network technology)?

It depends on your contract. In mine (O2 Germany) I have a home zone. This is an area where I can make calls for lower fees than outside. It's aproximately 3-10 km (depending on location) around any address that I want. At O2 Germany they give 2 phonenumbers, one mobile number and one fixed net number for the home zone. Inside my home zone I can be called on the the fixed net number (less expensive for the caller) and the call is forwarded to my cell phone without additional fee.

The A780, I have, can show me whether I'm inside or outside of my homezone. The A1200 cannot.

It's the symbol at the top left on home screen combined with "signal strength"

Most phones show "home" under the provider logo but on A780 it's only the small symbol.

I don't know if A1200 supports it. The symbol is there but the symbols for AGPS and EDGE are there too and these are not supported as known.

There is a symbol for roaming too. did anybody see this on the phone?
If yes, maybe it could be possible

I believe that all of these symbols are standard and should be shown on the phone's screen (except for EDGE of course which is not supported), however, I think that the indication symbols depends on the network and whether that specific phone is configured in the network's database of phones or not.

well here in india the cell info display is used to give you your current location which is constantly displayed on the home screen and changes as you move from one area to other that is as one bt hands you over to another so that you know your general location in a city especially useful if you are roaming in a new city away from home
