Note: This worked for my Rogers Pay-as-you-go account network using my Bell Sympatico email. Hopefully it works for non-pay-as-you-go account.
I finally figured it out and wish to share it w/ members who have been frustrated in setting it up.
Here are the steps:
1. Create a new profile in the Setup > Data Network
2. I put New Profile name as, Bell Email *This is really up to you*
3. APN: internet.com
4. User name: wapuser1
5. Password: wap
6. Timeout: Off
7. Modem: Auto
***Thats it for that and SAVE!***
**Note that I will be using my bell sympatico as an example**
Now go to Email:
1.) Create a new Mailbox Name or Profile
2.) Send Setup:
a. Server: smtp.rogerswirelessdata.com << rogers rep. to use
b. Port: 25
c. Authenticate: On
d. Fill in the appropriate box such as email/nickname/username
e. Remember that when putting the username make sure you
include the xxxx.sympatico.ca or xxxx.rogers.ca etc..
3.) Receive Setup:
a. Server: pophm.sympatico.ca or pop1.sympatico.ca
b. Port: 995 << this works for me
c. Same steps as the send setup.
d. The SSL/Authenticate depends on u whether u
want it off or on. For me it works both ways.
4.) Connection Setup:
a. Profile: Bell Email
* Pls make sure that you're password on send and receive setup are the same. I constantly had a password error because of that.
*Anyone who use MOrange pls make sure that when u are done checking ur email to completely logoff by going to the taskbar and shutting it down. I forgot to shutoff mine and it completely drained my $10 minutes.
