USB to 3.5mm converter doesn't work?

Hey guys. I use EMU headphones for my A1200 (because I've been using other phones that take it and so I don't have good 2.5mm ones) and I also have a converter for EMU to 3.5mm. I just recently got good headphones and want to use those. When I plug it all into my A1200, the audio only plays out of one ear (the right). I tried it on another phone and it worked perfectly fine. Any way for it to work? Thanks.
Btw, this IS an OEM Motorola converter.

I had the oem motrola usb to 3.5 headset i used for my v3i. Tried it on my a1200 ming with no luck. I ended up getting a 2.5 - 3.5 plug for my shure earphones. They shure sound great also. Make sure if you do pick one of these 2.5 - 3.5mm make sure you get a 3 ring. 2 rings no good... 3 rings on the plug. Got mine off ebay. But it worked great for me. I had the same issue where sound only came out of the right ear with the motorola plug.

yeah i figured. there must be something wrong with the actual phone gaintable or something cuz it technically should be able to work the same way as ever other phone. O well, good things the Maxx is there
