are you able to bond with your computer?
Hi guys,
Really enjoying this site. For some reason I'm unable to do file transfer via bluetooth with the MSI starkey usb dongle. I get a message saying file transfer service not found on ming. Any suggestions? This is the only feature I've been unable to take advantage of on this phone so far.
Thanks

I am able to bond with my computer but when I choose the file transfer option it says file transfer service not available.

Check the bluetooth services available for the A1200 on your bluetooth neighborhood and see if file transfer is allowed or not.
It's allowed. I'll try a different device and see if that's the issue

OK, this is officially annoying!
I just bought MSI BToes 2.0 USB bluetooth dongle and installed the blue soleil software. I set the security parameters for the a1200 for all services. I am able to bond with my computer but still do not have access to the file transfer service. This is now the 3rd device I have tried without any success. What are you guys using and what am I missing. Telnetting was a breeze compared to this!

This is really curious. I can even run remote commands from my phone, push contacts and connect headphones but I simply can't use FTP via bluetooth. Anyone able to do this with this phone? What device did you use?

When you try file transfer what do you do? do you right click on the file and goto send to bluetooth and then choose the A1200? is that the method you use and then it gives you the error. If you didn't try that way try it now and post the result.
That doesn't show as an option. Mind you I am able to push files from my phone to my computer and contacts from my computer to my phone but no files

You should have the bluetooth option in the send to menu. Try to add bluetooth to your "send to" folder present under your user name in "documents and settings" folder. Then when you right click on a file and hover over send to option you'll have bluetooth listed and when you click it it will ask you to search for devices, prepare the A1200 to be discoverable and choose it after the searching finish. It will then ask you to make a bond and the file should be transfered.
By the way I use an MSI Btoes2.
