Have you had any motorola phones in the past? Also did you make sure your usb setting is set to modem?

Hi,
I'm in serious pain with my A1200-- its awesome, except it doesn't yet do what I bought it for...sync with my Outlook Calendar, Contact, Tasks & Memos.
I have Motorola Phone Tools installed on my Windows XP PC. And I just went about updating the software..I now have version 4.3.6c, and then I launch the software and it asked me to plug in my phone..which I did. Then it did not find the phone driver and I ended up pulling from a list where there were numerous options such as Ming, A1200, A1200r, A1200 BT etc. I tried Ming, then A1200 and even A1200 BT but with no success.
With my phone plugged in and the software launched I get the Red X in the top left hand corner of the Phone Screen...and when I hover my cursor over it it reads "Phone Not Found" or something to that effect.
Please help!
Thanks in advance,
UV

I dont know were you got your phone but i would try another data cable because I had two cheap one's a they didnt work I had to buy one at circuit city and it works great
Yeah, I received a bad cable with my phone, was sent a replacement and it was bad too...
Anyway, I had it installed just fine on my laptop, could sync and everything, but couldn't get it to sync with my pc. Now after I updated my laptop to the newer MPT, it will no longer conect to my phone.... Rediculous. So now I am trying to find the root cause so I can work around it. There is something interfering with the phones ability to sync with the modem....
Finally got mine to sync.... I noticed that Auto Launch wasn't checked under Modem in the application launcher tab. Checked it and it now connects. Can finally connect with MPT.
Woohoo
Broken, you are a genius! I have been trying to get MPT to work for weeks now and I think I've read every forum I could find and you are the first one to give a simple solution to the problem! I just had to Auto Launch in the Modem menu and it works! Ureka!!! Today is a good day! I got my picture messaging to work so that I can receive them on my Ming instead of the online album, now this... what's next??? Oh yes, firmware!![]()
