    Default Java Based Mobile Gmail

Anyone else see this posted on betanews today?

Google began offering a mobile-application based version of its Gmail product for mobile phones capable of running Java applications on Thursday. The company says the new product offers much faster access to e-mail than its WAP-based offering.

Those interested in using the application can download it from gmail.com/app directly from their mobile phone. In addition, Sprint announced separately that it would make the application available from its Vision and Power Vision homepages.
I got it installed and loaded. My question is anyone else having a problem when it tries to load your inbox after logging into your account? I have a picture here but its kind of blurry. If anyone else is having this problem let me know if you have a fix. I'm using T-Mobile configured with port 8080.

Note: The Gmail application doesn't currently work with T-Mobile USA or BREW-based carriers (e.g. Verizon, Alltel, U.S. Cellular).

Well that sucks. There has to be a way around that. I'll stick with http://m.gmail.com/ until there is support for T-Mobile.

When you go to the download site it tells you that it doesnt know if your phone is supported but it wil at least load.

yeah, tried it first with opera mini, does not give me the option to get it anyway, had to do it with the built-in browser instead

lets me sign it but the scrolling is VERY poor. Hard to scroll around, had to use the nav button on the phone left/right to get anywhere.

POP access still seems better for gmail at this point

I've got it installed yet when you try to sign in it just hangs at Loading....

I have gone back to using the POP access to gmail through the built in Email client. Here is how you configure your POP client for gmail usage: http://mail.google.com/support/bin/a...y?answer=12103

Does anyone know of a better POP email client like a Thunderbird or Outlook ported for the A1200?
