    Default Firmware update Help

I've searched quite a bit, and read a lot, but haven't found an good step by step - heck, I haven't even found out how to find what firmare my phone has!

I looked with my MOTO PHONE TOOLS, searched for firmware, etc. but no clear path. SO I feel I've done my due dilligence before I ask a newbie question:

How do I find what firmwar I have?

    AND

How do I update it to the latest stable version?

    Thanks, Cheers!

    Tweldon

P.S> I figure I can find out where I can download it myself! Most likely I will go with the .06p from what I've read - a stable one?

If you really read alot and search then you would see that the third sticky down is this..
    http://www.motorolafans.com/index.ph...ewtopic&t=4020

Read like 4 posts into it and they tell you how to get your current firmware version.

Now the latest we have is 08p which is in the stickies as well. Just look for the thread with the title 08p firmware. So far it seems to do everything the 06p does but maybe better battery life.
Good luck if you need anything else let me know.

Still, the 4th post doesn’t say so much, and as I try, it happens so fast can't see it.

As I figured “Alpha The Legend” would howl at me first, but I'm still at a bit of a loss of how I would install the new update , etc, so a pointer there would b appreciated.

Just keeping writing it and look at the first line. it should be like the last numbers or letters of the first line. And to install new firmware. You will need RSD lite, the drivers, and the firmware. Here is a very simple guide that explains the steps..

If you want personal help i can do that for you, just pm me and we can set a time for the flash.

Well, Seems I have .53P , and for now, I think I'm going to stay with it, until I get a little more comfortable with the phone.

Your links have helped, and I have bookmarked them and downloaded some of the software for the future. Is there any hude diff between .53P and the latest?

But right now, I have a couple of more pressing problems, like I messed up on the phone number it calls out to check for my VOICE MAIL - and I can't find out where I can change that - It asks what number to dial when you first set it up, but I messed that up, now I need to edit it, and I want to put the pauses in along with my password, etc.

And, I downloaded OPERA Mini, but it wont let me get passed the EULA - I check the "I have read and accepted ....." and press continue, but then it keeps coming back to that screen!

So, got some more figurin' to do.

    Cheers, Tweldon
