It is true that you must manually tell the phone to receive new mail. This is one of the major downfalls with this phone. Even the crappy RAZR and SLVR phones are capable of automatically downloading messages.
Hey all, new here. To be honest, I hate the typical motorola phones like the RAZRs and the SLVRs. You know what I hate more though? PDAs! But for some reason, you take the two and put them together and Motorola has won my heart.
I want this phone, I have heard disturbing things about no e-mail notifications though. Unfortunately I need my PDA to be hittin my exchange server and letting me know when I have new messages. I heard through the grapevine that the ming doesn't do that, that you need to go in and tell it to get your new mail. Is this true or false? I had come here looking to see if there was a "fix" for this, but couldn't find anything on the subject at all which leads me to believe my friend was mistaken. What gives?
Thanks for your replies in advance!

Man that's depressing... that one downfall is going to keep me from getting this phone.![]()
Oh the perils of IT and needing to be reached by e-mail on demand.
On top of that it doest support exchange activesync. Only SyncML.
Motorola A1200, 46p Generic firmware, Rogers
