Problem setting up Phone Tools with a1200 (phone not listed)

Hi All,
I am a new user of a1200. I installed the Phone Tool software came with the pack. I run the application and starts with Default Profile. Next it asks me to choose the connection. I select Bluetooth, then it tells me to select the phone. But a1200 is not listed in the phone list. Max I see is a780+
Can somebody tell me how do I setup the software for my a1200 phone?

Have u run the "live update", make sure u got version 4.12a (the latests) and that should solve the problem.

Yes, I ran the live update, but it said "You already have the latest version of the software"........
Any other thoughts!!

Hiya! I'm having the same problem I was able to install and use Motorola Phone Tools on my bf's computer (XP), but when I took it home and tried to do it on mine (Windows 2000), it won't work. I have the version 4.21.a from 04-24-2006, I've tried both of my USB ports, and all of the A1200 options from the list (Ming, Ming BT, A1200, A1200 BT), but it still won't recognize my phone. Any suggestions? Think it has anything to do with my OS?

Your problem is different than the original poster has, he can't find the options of the A1200 you have on MPT.
For you problem, do you see a Motorola modem listed in your device manager when you connect the phone to your computer?

maybe the phone has to be in modem mode for the first time that it connects with MPT?

try uninstalling the modem driver from windows device manager and reinstalling it after. I did that with another member and it worked.

Did not see phone listed as a modem when I initially tried, but tried it with phone in modem mode and it works!! The phone and I are friends again Thanks for the help!!

Hi All,
Thanks for all replies. I did not have the latest version, so I downloaded it and now a1200 is listed. I am able to setup the bluetooth connection. But very strangely when I connect via bluetooth only the "MMS Studio" is accessible to me, all other options I do not get in left/right pane.
But when I connect through USB cable I am able to access all the features like image/music/video etc.
Any idea why this is happening?
