A1200 Questions For Owners

I haven't bought an A1200 yet, but only because I can't seem to get answers to specific questions about it!

I can't seem to get answers to the following questions in either the users manual pdf, or review forums, or anywhere on the net for that matter!

1. Will the A1200 "modify" excel, word, and other docs?

2. Can you assign a different ring tone (mp3 or otherwise) for every person in your phone book, or is it only a few groups that you can assign a ringtone to, and put people in those groups?

3. Have anyone here (owners) had any major complaints about the A1200, and if so, what are they?

Also, does anyone know if Sandisk's new 2GB card http://www.sandisk.com/Products/Prod...o.aspx?ID=2027 will work with the A1200?

1> It will READ only - cant edit YET

2> Yes, EVERYONE can have their own ringtone/MP3 set

3> Thats totally subjective. Some will have some, while others wont. The only 1 I have is it being difficult to text while I drive (kids...dont try this at home)

4> 2GB TF WILL work

I realize I'm probably going to sound like a complete moron, but what is "seem editing" and why is it important to users?

It is a way by which you can add or edit certain features on the phone which are not available through the settings menu (features hidden by the manufacturer).

basically seem editing allow you to custom your phone to your liking. For example.. The one that every A1200 wants.. is a volume raise for the speakers and mp3's. With seem editing it is able to be done. Also seem editing might allow custom fonts and custom welcome and goodbye screen. There are alot of things that we are able to do. But like i mentioned before its something new now that we have radiocomm.

That's VERY cool! Ok, so I have two questions. Can anyone seem edit, or do you have to be able to program and know code to do it? I took some computer classes back in my grade school days (e.g. "goto" lol) and I know some DOS commands, but not many.

Secondly, this new Moto "Holux", is it just me, or is the Holux just an A1200 with GPS?

well yes.. in a way you need you to know what your putting into.. its not the same code as you learned in school. But you get the hang of it rather quick.

yeah, holux seems to be the next gen A1200 with GPS...same hardware and look/feel etc...IMHO!
