There are only the 3 colors available (red, white and black) and there will not be any additional colors made by Motorola.
cnn.cn already have the face plates for the white and black.
Does anyone know if and where you can get different A1200 face plates to change colors? Also, seeing as how I'll probably be own this phone for the next 3 years (possibly more), should I buy a replacement battery and replacement flip now?
Thanks,
- Josh

Cool, I'll check them out!

I have decided to order a phone and I want to thank everyone particularly Alpha for their patience and help with my newbie questions. One of my hesitations has been my surprise at the popularity of the phone considering that it does not have any of the high speed connection ability or even edge which most of the new phones coming out will have. I have never done any programming of phones so I am sure that I will have other questions in the future.
No problem! This might not work (haven't tried it before), but I've attached a pic I took of the whole package...everything that came in the box. It only shows the one stylus because the other is in the already in the phone, but as you can hopefully see, everything is there and it is all sealed and new!Originally Posted by nachtkriechen
Wow! Thanks for the photo, Hard-Case! I'm curious about the Trans Flash card though. To my understanding the phone uses the smaller of the two cards in the plastic case in the lower right hand corner of the photo. So what is the larger flash card for?
By the way, TBFB PMed me and said that the A1200 that came with the stereo headset and what not, is the "delux" version. He hasn't sold the delux version in 5 months. So, the one I'll be ordering only comes with the two discs, data-cable, manual, two styluses, charger, battery, TF card, and phone.
Is the stereo headset worth all of the hubub? I figured I could probably buy the headset from a local Moto retailer if it was that big of a deal. I DO want some way of using the phone "hands free", and I'm not sure I want to spend another $50 - $100 on a blue tooth.
Thanks,
- Josh
I think that the headset is included in TBFB's package but he missed it, as they include it because it is needed to play the FM radio which is one of the phone's features, so it is a standard item in the package.
I hope so. All I can do is wait and see, once I order it.
You're welcome. I'd seen the question asked in a few threads, so I figured I'd throw it up there for everyone. The larger flash card is an SD style card, and the purpose is that you put the transflash card into it so that it can be read with any SD card reader.Originally Posted by nachtkriechen
Strange. Because I bought it not long ago, I'm fairly certain it isn't the delux version, and I DID get the wired stereo headset. Is it worth all the hubub? Don't know. I know I need it if I want to use the FM stereo capability of the phone, or use it as an MP3 player (as right now I only have a Moto HS820 BT headset). So if those are important to you, then it might be worth it, but as you said I'm sure you can pick it up sometime later if it doesn't come in the package.....though I'd be surprised if it didn't!Is the stereo headset worth all of the hubub? Also, if you want to go hands-free with a bluetooth headset and don't want to spend a lot of money, Overstock.com has the Bluespoon AX2 headset for 29.99.....
Well, I hope it comes with everything you mentioned. I think the stereo headset would be the only way to go hands free without going to blue tooth.Originally Posted by hard-case
As far as the blue tooth sets go. I've seen quite a few less expensive sets like the "Bluespoon" you mentioned, but I've been having a hard time finding reviews on the good and bad points of the differing sets. I had a friend tell me to go with "Plantronics" (even though their headsets are U-G-L-Y!) because that's all they do is make headsets. There's a logic there, but, still... I'd like to find one that's both quality, AND less expensive.
Personally, I think it's kind of silly to have one of those high end $150+ blue tooth headsets with an LCD display, when the thing is going to be sitting on your ear! How are you supposed to read the thing if it's on your ear?! And if you're going to tell me you'd read it when you're carrying the headset on your belt or something, I say, why wouldn't you just look at your phone at that point? LOL!
Thats cool how the smaller TF card fits into the larger one to be read in a card reader. My wife's camera card works the same way. I'm not sure why I didn't put two and two together.
After seeing the (2GB!!) TF card on Sandisk's site, I want one BAD! $115 though. Ouch!
Thanks,
- Josh
