Cannot connect ming to computer?

I just bought a a1200 from a reputable seller in hong kong and when i got home I could not connect it to the computer...When I plug in the USB cable the computer recognizes it as USB mass storage but motorola phone tools just s hangs....when I try to connect via bluetooth and it finds the phone and it proceeds to the bonindg screen with passkey but then it says "failed to initlaize com port" ...

Try going into settings and change the USB mode from Mass Storage to Modem then try the USB connection to phone tools again.
